5 Things You Need To Know About AMH levels and how it predicts fertility

Let’s just start with 5 things you need to know about AMH

1.     It’s used to measure ovarian reserve…how many eggs are left

2.     Levels predict fertility status

3.     It’s produced by eggs that have been  when eggs “wake up” from the dormant stage

4.     AMH levels are highest around age 25 and decrease with age, leading to menopause when no eggs are no longer called into duty

5.     Low AMH levels can improve with lower toxin levels/exposure and more antioxidants

AMH is a favorite marker for fertility status and is even predictive of IVF success.

I actually kinda hate that part bc some women are basically turned away if their levels are too low.  Kinda like, oh sorry boo, you’re a lost cause.

Here’s what’s going on

The level stays stable throughout the cycle unlike FSH or LH for example.  That’s bc it comes from eggs that have reached a certain level of maturity after being “woken up” by FSH.

BTW…did you know that eggs/follicles are stimulated EVERY DAY and not just like a week before ovulation.  In fact, close to 30 eggs are stimulated every day equaling about 1000 eggs stimulated every month just to get one good one ready for ovulation.

Where was I…oh yeah

Fewer eggs are stimulated as we age because of an increase in damage to the whole assembly line (ovaries, eggs, mitochondria, etc.)

AMH eventually fizzles out at menopause where there are not enough eggs left to generate a detectable level of AMH (the well never completely runs dry, just too low to fill the bucket)

Some women have early low levels of AMH similar to menopause.  Basically, their reproductive age is older than their chronological age and they should have a few years left to conceive.

Ok! I’m getting to the point!

The point is that if you could energize and protect your eggs each month, you could increase your AMH!! I have receipts (see my reference list).  Ideally, you should start this work about 4 months before you conceive.  To provide the healthiest internal environment for your eggs when they really get going and developing.  This is what I help my 1:1 clients do every month as they prepare (repair) their body to conceive.

This is why I’m always preaching detoxing your LIFE.  To stop the damage before it happens!

You must combine good sleep, good nutrition, good digestion, good antioxidant support, and lower external toxins.  With this, you can slow down inappropriate reproductive aging.
